Work Safely at Heights BCGCM1006A (Construction) and MNMG237A (Mining)

The course provides students with the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills required to support site-specific training in Work Safely at Heights BCGCM1006A (Construction) and MNMG237A (Mining)

A nationally recognised competency is awarded on successful completion of this course (BCGCM1006A) along with the nationally recognised competency MNMG237A.

  

Duration The nominal duration for this unit of competency is 4 hrs of supervised training and assessment.
Clients The key clients for this course are existing construction and other relevant industry workers and potential new entrants. These groups may include workers in the construction and mining fields.
Training The delivery mode selected supports the development of the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to support the achievement of competency in this course.

All training delivery materials have been mapped to the units of competency. Face to face classroom delivery will be used to facilitate the underpinning knowledge requirements.

Assessment Both theory and practical assessment will be conducted throughout the course. Practical training and assessment will be conducted at the training site and will include:
  • Identification and control of risks
  • Use and maintenance of harnesses and straps
  • Care of equipment
  • Demonstration of nominated rescue procedure
  • Identification and use of rescue equipment
