Swing Stage Scaffold Courses

KOOLAT SAFETY is currently taking bookings for the following swing stage courses. There is a requirement for 3 weeks notice to be given to WHSQ prior to delivering the two courses 30825QLD and 30826QLD.

These courses are required under the Qld Scaffold Code of Practice 2009. Refer to 7.3 Suspended (swing-stage) scaffold, page 26.

30825QLD Course in safe erection/installation of swing stage scaffolds. 20 hours. This course is targeted at those candidates required to erect/install swing stage scaffolds. To complete this course, candidates MUST be advanced scaffolders or advanced riggers and hold a national work safely at heights competency. Candidates must supply the complete compliant swing stage scaffold, give 3 weeks notice of the required date of training (as required by WHSQ), supply fully completed enrolment forms prior to the course, supply copies of Advanced Scaffold/Rigger licence and supply details of who the assessor was, evidence of formal training, and cleared funds must be received prior to the delivery of the course. The hours for each course are nominal and may require longer periods of training, depending on candidate skills, class size, access to swing stage, etc. The swing stage roof rig will need to be erected and dismantled, during both the training and assessing phases of 30825QLD. A copy of the company rescue plan and rescue procedure must also be supplied for each location prior to the swing stage training course.

30826QLD Course in the safe use of swing stage scaffolds. 14 hours. This course is designed to assist candidates in the safe use of swing stage scaffolds. Target group would include maintenance personnel, painters, concrete patchers, window cleaners and personnel required to carry out their work within the confines of a swing stage scaffold. Candidates must supply the complete compliant swing stage scaffold, give 3 weeks notice of the required date of training (as required by WHSQ), supply fully completed enrolment forms prior to the course and cleared funds must be received prior to the delivery of the course. The hours for each course are nominal and may require longer periods of training, depending on candidate skills, class size, access to swing stage, etc. A copy of the company rescue plan and rescue procedure must also be supplied for each location prior to the swing stage training course. 

30781QLD Certificate III in the Operation of a Swinging Stage Scaffold. Advanced Scaffolders and Advanced Riggers should be able to RPL this Certificate III if they already hold a Certificate III in Scaffolding or Rigging. Some gap training may be required.
