CPCCCM3001A Operate elevated work platforms

Koolat Safety is committed to providing quality training to industry and as such only delivers Units of Competency from National Training Packages. This competency surpasses the requirements of the old Yellow Card. The yellow card issued by the EWPAA is not a Unit of Competency from a National Training Package. 

This unit of competency is from the CPC08 Construction, Plumbing and Services Integrated Framework National Training Package and covers the safe operation of elevated work platforms (EWP) under 11 metres. It is nationally recognised by industry and provides trainees with the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills required to operate elevated work platforms. 

Types of EWP:   EWPs include scissor lifts, boom and knuckle boom lifts with a boom length under 11 metres. EWPs are classified as:

• Trailer Mounted Boomlift (TL)
  
•  Self Propelled Boomlift (BL)
  
•  Vertical Lift (VL)
  
•  Scissor Lift (SL)

Pre-requisite units;
CPCCOHS2001A Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction
industry. (Koolat Safety delivers this competency with the operate elevated work platform course).
CPCCCCM1006A Work safely at heights. This is delivered as a separate course. Evidence of
having completed this competency must be produced prior to undertaking training in the elevated work
platforms course. This is a requirement of the packaging rules from the CPC08 package.

This unit does not cover powered telescoping devices, hinged devices, or any combination of these used to support a platform of 11 metres or more. A Certificate of Competency is required to operate boom type EWPs over 11 metres. For 11 metres plus EWP licences click here.
