Course Description
On successful completion of this program and on approval of application to Queensland Transport, the trainee will be able to control traffic on a road way using a Stop/Slow bat in accordance with legislative requirements and guidelines set out in the M.U.T.C.D Part 3.
The course program will cover:
- Approved PPE for Traffic Controllers in QLD
- Authority to control traffic.
- Speed limits for controlling traffic.
- Responsibility for Traffic Controller Ahead signs.
- Location of traffic control station.
- Correct procedures for controlling traffic.
- Communication with the public.
- Two-way radio communications and protocol.
- Controlling traffic at night.
- Reporting offenders.
- Removing or covering signs when not controlling traffic.

Course Prerequisites
You must bring photo ID to the course. EFTPOS facilities are available. (Molendinar Campus Only)
- Students must have a held an Australian or foreign drivers licence for a continuous period of 12 months within the last 5 years. (This does NOT include Learners Permit's)
- Students should be aware, that upon submission of their application to QLD Transport, they will be required to submit their criminal history and health status. Please ensure that you have all the relevant information available.
- Given the nature of this role, students must be able to speak and write english clearly.
An additional fee of $114.30 is payable to Queensland Transport upon successful completion of your training when you submit your application. For further information, please go to Queensland Transport. A crimtrac fee of $32.05 is included in his cost.
