Definitions of Construction Work.
Construction work is work to erect, construct, extend, alter, convert, fit-out, commission, renovate, repair, refurbish, disassemble or decommission a structure. It can also include work connected with site preparation, excavation & landscaping and asbestos removal (as a prescribed activity).
MUTUAL RECOGNITION OF CONSTRUCTION INDUCTION CARDS
There is now mutual recognition for construction cards across QLD, NSW & Victoria.

Course Objectives
This course provides new building and construction industry participants with the introductory understanding and knowledge needed to commence or continue work in the building and construction industry.
Participants will acquire knowledge of the following areas:
- appropriate legislative requirements and responsibilities
- basic concepts of workplace health and safety plans and work method statements
- physical building and construction hazards
- basic risk management concepts including hazard identification, assessment of risk, control of risk and evaluation of control measures
- the hierarchy of controls (eliminate, substitute, redesign, isolate, administrate and use of personal protective equipment (PPE))
- emergency procedures.
Course Prerequisites
- Students must bring photo ID to the course. (Such as a drivers licence, 18+ card or passport)
- Students should have a good understanding of written and spoken english. *
