Course Objectives
Through the combination of theory and practical training, this course provides participants with the necessary knowledge and skills required to safely operate a Slewing mobile crane up to 20t capacity.
Course Prerequisites
- Participants are advised to hold intermediate numeracy, literacy and communication skills to read and comprehend written instructions and must be at least 18 years of age.
- Students are to wear closed in shoes (steel caps)
- Students must have a basic understanding of mathematics (must be able to work out formulas for loads and safe working loads of steel wire rope, synthetic rope and chains)
Students must also bring;
- your completed log book (80 hours on-the-job training) and training plan signed by a Licenced crane operator
- hard hat, safety vest and boots
- Students must also bring photo identification (such as a passport or drivers licence) to register for this course.
